Energy Conservation carried out a Joint Venture Level 2 Office of Environment & Heritage Energy Saver Audit in conjunction with Julien Freed Consulting (Lighting Design Expert). Project Date. May 2013. Measures proposed to value $1.5M with business cases showing 2.6 to 4 years simple payback. Funding Source – Strata Operational and Sinking Funds Budgets. Subsidised OEH Energy Saver Audit. Audit value $30,000. The Audit covered all lighting, mechanical services, ventilation & electrical equipment. Business cases were developed for upgrades of lighting, ventilation fans, HVAC, pumping, pool heating, voltage optimization, BMS optimization & power factor correction. Co-gen & Solar PV. Client proceeding immediately with lighting upgrades to be followed by mechanical services upgrades, power factor correction and voltage optimization. Solar PV likely to proceed and Co-Gen may be a future project when the infrastructure for export of thermal energy becomes available in the area. It was of interest to the Client that Sydney Opera House could become a future importer of thermal energy from the Facility when the necessary infrastructure is in place in the area.
